Merseyflow fundraisers reach new heights with charity abseil

Brave charity fundraisers from merseyflow scaled one of Liverpool’s most iconic buildings to raise over £6,760.06 for a good cause.

The team of 20 took on the 150ft descent from Liverpool Cathedral, free hanging from above the great West Door, to raise money for merseyflow’s adopted charity, Halton Haven Hospice.

The hospice provides free specialist care to people of Halton and the surrounding areas who are living with end-of-life or life-limiting conditions, and their families.

The merseyflow team caught the imagination of colleagues and customers, smashing their fundraising target of over £5,000.

The total raised includes a donation of £4,000 from merseyflow’s parent company, international tolling specialist emovis.

Helen Williams, Marketing Manager from merseyflow, said: “The abseil was nerve wracking, but it was really exciting and it feels like a great achievement for those that took part. It was definitely worthwhile, knowing we were raising a lot of money to help Halton Haven Hospice provide support to patients and their families.

“We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us and donated to this amazing cause, helping us to reach our fundraising goal.”

Viv Culleton, Chief Executive Officer of Halton Haven Hospice, said: “Donations are vital for us to keep running. At the moment, we need to raise more than £1.2 million a year to meet our annual running costs, so to have the team at merseyflow taking on this enormous challenge to raise money for our charity is fantastic. We’re very grateful for their support.”
