Local junior sports teams win free kits thanks to merseyflow

Junior sports teams in Halton will receive free kits for their whole squad thanks to merseyflow’s Team Spirit competition.

After a fantastic response from over 40 local Under 14 teams, merseyflow will be working with the five lucky winners to organise fully numbered and branded kits up to the value of £1,000 for their team. These teams are: Parkland U7 Boca, Beechwood Lightning, Hotsteppers Dance School, Brookvale Utd U12s and Halton Farnworth Hornets U11 Green

As a gesture due to the overwhelming response received for the competition, merseyflow has also decided to give the five further runner-up teams a new kit to the value of £500 each, these teams are: Halton Swimming Club Micro League Squad, Halton Farnworth Hornets U8s Reds, Windes Moorfields Tigers U7s, Widnes RUFC Under 9s and Weston Point Warriors

This is the third year that merseyflow has ran its Team Spirit competition, which aims to support local clubs that help young people in the region access sports to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

Neil Conway, Chief Executive of merseyflow, said: “Supporting the local community here in Halton is really important to us at merseyflow. We know that junior sports teams are self-funded and rely on donations to cover day-to-day running costs and equipment so we’re keen to show our support and recognise the fantastic work they do to provide kids with an outlet to have fun and stay healthy.

“We were able to showcase over 40 local teams on our Facebook page this year, and I’d like to say congratulations to all of our winners for 2023.”
