Santas storm Silver Jubilee Bridge to raise thousands for local Hospice

This weekend hundreds of Santas were spotted crossing the Silver Jubilee Bridge in a festive fun run that raised thousands for a much-loved local hospice.

The Santa Dash, an annual 3km fun run, helps to raise the vital funds needed for Halton Haven Hospice to continue providing a peaceful space, specialist end of life care and support here in Halton.

This year the event had a fantastic response, with hundreds of Santas running raising thousands of pounds which will be used to support patients and their families in the local area.

Event sponsor, merseyflow, joined in the festive spirit of the Santa Dash by registering a team of 35 of its staff members to participate in the fun run on the day.

Tina Gill, Fundraising Manager at Halton Haven Hospice, said: “Seeing hundreds of Santas running across the bridge really is an amazing sight, and we are overwhelmed with the response we’ve had this year.

“Every donation really can make a difference at a critical time in someone’s life, and we’re grateful to our sponsor merseyflow and everyone that took the time to come and take part.”

Helen Williams, Marketing Manager for Merseyflow, said: “The Santa Dash is always a lot of fun and seeing how many people show their support to the hospice is really heart-warming.

“The whole team had a great time taking part and we’re happy we could help raise some of the funds needed to support Halton Haven Hospice and the amazing work it does in the community.”
