Merseyflow sponsors team member running the London Marathon 2024 for local hospice

We’re proud to sponsor our team member Janet Cook who will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for our chosen charity Halton Haven Hospice.

Janet was initially planning on running the 2023 London Marathon but delayed the fund-raising run till this year due to her partner Gary being diagnosed with cancer.

Janet’s partner Gary very sadly passed away on 12/07/2023.

Halton Haven Hospice makes a real difference in people’s lives by providing services to the local community, including a day hospice, family support, and specialist palliative care, completely free of charge, to people from Halton and the surrounding areas who are living with life-limiting conditions.

Janet has already raised over £1,500 for the charity, including a £1,000 donation from merseyflow and contributions from her colleagues, family and friends. More donations are always appreciated for such a good cause.

If you’d like to support Janet in her fundraising efforts you can donate on her Just Giving page at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/janet-cook23.

Janet Cook said: “I’m doing this to help everyone touched by cancer and to support Halton Haven Hospice, who do a fantastic job for the people in their care. It’s a very personal cause for me for obvious reasons and I’d like to thank everyone for their support so far.”

Neil Conway, Chief Executive of merseyflow, said: “The whole team here will be rooting for Janet on the 21st April when she takes on this massive challenge. We’re very proud of her and want to support her in every way we can. I know she is very determined to raise as much as she can to help Halton Haven, and we’re happy that we can help.”
