COVID-19: merseyflow walk-in-centre closing in line with national lockdown

Merseyflow has closed its walk-in-centre at Manor Park in Runcorn from Tuesday 5th January until further notice.

The closure has been confirmed in response to the Government’s new COVID-19 national lockdown that was announced last night.

Tolls/charges still apply on the Mersey Gateway Bridge in line with Government policy and payments for crossings can be made remotely through the following channels:

Online facilities such as the merseyflow website and the quick pay app will operate as normal. Customers may experience longer waiting times when phoning merseyflow due to an increase in calls.

Customers who have Halton Resident and Blue Badge plans due for renewal between now and the end of February are being asked to renew their plans online, or by phoning merseyflow staff at the contact centre on 01928 878 878 Monday-Saturday between 9am and 5.30pm and Sunday between 10am and 4pm.

Anyone in this position who is unable to renew their plan online will still be able to continue to use the Mersey Gateway Bridge throughout the lockdown period without receiving any PCNs.

Neil Conway, Chief Executive of merseyflow, said: “We are closing the walk-in centre to protect the wellbeing of our staff and customers and to help stop the spread of the virus. I’m sure everyone can understand why we are taking this step, but I’d like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause any of our customers.

He added: “Our employees have shown huge commitment and dedication over the past year and I’d like to thank them, and our customers, who have been incredibly understanding. Our merseyflow quick pay app, the merseyflow website and our contact centre are all available so there are plenty of options for people to use to pay for crossings or manage their accounts.”

Merseyflow will continue to closely monitor the situation and adhere to the latest Government advice.
