A committed team of 20 merseyflow employees will be lacing up their hiking boots for a challenging seven-mile trek up Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak, all in aid of their adopted charity, Halton Haven Hospice.
The group will begin their overnight ascent late on Saturday, 2nd August, aiming to reach the summit in time to watch the sunrise on Sunday morning
Merseyflow is proud to announce a generous donation of £4,800 to support the event, and the team is now encouraging the wider community to get involved by making further donations to help the hospice continue its vital work.
Helen Williams, Marketing Manager at merseyflow, said: “Taking on Scafell Pike is both a personal challenge and a great opportunity to give back. Our team is ready to push their limits, and we hope the community will support us.
“Halton Haven provides specialist care to those who need it most, and we’re proud to support their work. Every donation we receive helps ensure the hospice can continue to offer comfort, dignity, and support to individuals and families across our community.”
Halton Haven Hospice plays a crucial role in the community by offering specialist palliative care at no cost to individuals in Halton and surrounding areas who are living with life-limiting conditions.
The hospice needs to raise over £1.2 million annually to cover its operating costs, with only half of this amount funded by statutory sources. Rising living costs further strain its resources, making donations essential for its continued service.
Tina Gill, Fundraising Manager at Halton Haven Hospice, said: “We are extremely grateful to the merseyflow team for their unwavering support and dedication. Community-led fundraising is essential to our work, and it’s inspiring to see such dedication and spirit from the team”.
